About the Catch on to Catchments program
Catch on toCatchments is a school progam that was initially trialled in rural schools of the Gellibrand, Curdies and Hopkins catchments between the Otway Ranges and Warrnambool.
Teachers participated in a 'learning about catchments day' in the vicinity of Timboon, in the Curdies catchment, which was conducted by staff and farmers of the Heytesbury Landcare network.
They then used the insights they gained to design and undertake projects with their classes that had catchment and landcare theme.
These classes then came together with students from other classes and schools to participate in a students Catch on to Catchments conferance, held at Glenormiston College near Terang. Many of the conference activities were run by the students themselves.
